What makes LUSI different?

1. Holistic approach

   1. We make sure all students are seen and heard. Academics is part of what we do, but our focus is on the child as a person, not a test score. We have meetings every morning to encourage this. We also want to involve parents and families in the learning environment as well! (more below)
      

2. So many options!

   1. We understand as a parent or caregiver that you may need some time to get things done at home or for your family. This is why we offer so many flexible options! If you just want a better learning environments for your child, but have to work full time, choose our full time student option. If you are just looking for a few full days a week, choose our full time hybrid option. Love homeschooling your child, but want some options for local socialization activities? Choose our part or full time hybrid options! Have a child you love homeschooling, but they have a STEM-based interest you know they would love to participate in with others? Just join a club! Your child's education is in your hands with all of these options! You can feel secure knowing that when you drop them off at LUSI that your child(ren) will have two highly qualified educators to support them throughout the day!
      

3. Drop off!

   1. We know there are other options in the area that you could choose for your child to participate in and we truly appreciate you considering LUSI! One of our big perks is the option to drop your child off and return later. We highly encourage co-ops and other programs in the area, but we also understand that staying with your child the entire time is not always feasible, and we try to reflect options that cater to those needs!
      

4. Parent Involvement

   1. Now, even though we offer drop offs, we definitely want parents highly involved in their child's learning! Here is a list of activities we would love to have parents/caregivers participate in with us:

      1. frequent check ins

      2. guest speakers

      3. field trips

      4. Celebrations of Learning (student showcase)

      5. Different get togethers (maybe holiday parties, donuts with grownups, etc.)
         

5. Hands-on/outdoor Activities

   1. We strongly believe that learning coming from doing! That is why we focus over half of our day on hands-on activities! That is also why we try to put in a lot of outdoor activities in the ways of experiments outdoors, field trips etc. Students need time away from their screens to play and be outdoors in the sun!
      

6. True educational choice

   1. At LUSI we believe that your child's education should be what best fits your individual child. We are not a "one size fits all" atmosphere. That is why our learning coaches are here to support whatever curriculum you have chosen for your child. We will work one-on-one with parents and students to support the best learning environment for your child.
